Spanish Grading Policy

Your Spanish grade will be weighted accordingly.

                                                             Tests/Quizzes/Projects (TQP) 60%

                                                             Homework/In Class Work (HW) 25%

                                                             Participation (PART) 15%

2. You should keep track of your grade and also check it online on PCR.  All your work will always be returned to you as soon as possible.  Quizzes and tests may be recollected and kept by myself.

3. You will earn points on listening/speaking activities, reading and writing assignments, tests,

quizzes, projects, oral exams, one on one conversations, class discussions, as well as homework.  Homework will not be accepted late unless indicated by teacher.

4. Your participation grade will be assigned at the end of each grading period.  Remember that

these points (or lack thereof) will significantly impact your grade. Speaking in Spanish as well

as having materials and homework are included in this grade. There will also be participation

points awarded for each chapter (every 2-3 weeks) on Spanish Days (up to 10 points).

5. Each day a project is late 5 points will be deducted, no exceptions.

6. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to come to me and find out what you missed.  Tests

and quizzes can be made up no later than 5 school days after returning to school.  After 5

days, they will become a zero.  Past homework will be due the day you return and graded

work missed will be due the following day.  Missed tests and quizzes may not be made up

during class time.  They may be made up during study halls, before, or after school.  These

arrangements must be made in advance.

7. Cheating will not be tolerated.  It is rather especially obvious and easy to catch in a foreign

language class.  You and the guilty parties will receive a zero on the assignment.  This

includes using an online translator.  Your parents and the office will be notified.

8. Accents and spelling will be graded.

9.If you need any extra help or have any questions, DO NOT HESITATE TO SEE ME!  I will be

available before and after school, homeroom, advisory and during free periods.  Please let me know in advance that you will be coming for help, and tell me specifically what you will need to work on.
